Corpus Christi, Texas –It is expected that inhabitants of South Texas will experience a period of intense heat until the beginning of the next week.
Temperatures in towns such as Corpus Christi, Alice, and Laredo are expected to reach as high as 105 degrees Fahrenheit by Monday.
At the peak of the afternoon, when UV levels are at their highest and circumstances are dry, engaging in outdoor activities will be quite risky.
The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi forecasts that high temperatures will remain in the mid 70s to low 80s through Tuesday, with overnight lows bringing no relief.
High temperatures will continue to range from 100 degrees Fahrenheit to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
Due to the fact that southeast winds are still bringing in hot and humid air from the Gulf of Mexico, the likelihood of rain on Friday is only 15%, and it is almost nonexistent over the weekend.
Laredo is expected to reach 103 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday, while Freer and Tilden are both expected to reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher apiece.
It is anticipated that even coastal areas such as Rockport and Port Lavaca will experience daily temperatures in the upper 90s, which poses a significant danger of heat exhaustion for beachgoers and others who work outside.
During the hottest part of the day, residents of Texas are strongly encouraged to prevent vigorous activity, limit the amount of time they spend outside, stay hydrated, and wear light clothing.
