An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for dozens of counties as a result of a wave of severe heat that is expected to descend over south-west Missouri and south-east Kansas beginning at noon on Saturday. The heat index values are expected to reach as high as 106 degrees.
Beginning around seven o’clock on Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a warning that encompasses the cities of Springfield, Joplin, Rolla, and Fort Scott.”
