Champaign Faces Intense Heat and Storms, Cooler Temps Coming Wednesday

Over the course of this weekend, the northeastern region of Ohio will experience a combination of stormy sky and summer heat, with temperatures reaching into the 80s and heat indices getting close to the low 90s from Saturday through Sunday night.

It is anticipated that scattered showers and thunderstorms will be present throughout the weekend, with the largest probability of precipitation (60–75%) occurring on Saturday evening and early Sunday morning in places such as Elyria, Mansfield, and Youngstown.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has reported that showers and thunderstorms are expected to occur.

It is possible that certain storms may bring with them high gusts and heavy rain, particularly on Saturday night.

Residents of Akron-Canton and Toledo should anticipate high humidity and temperatures that remain stable in the middle to upper 80s throughout the whole region.

It is possible that the highest temperature in Cleveland will be 85 degrees Fahrenheit on both Saturday and Sunday.

Especially in the afternoons and nights, the possibility of pop-up storms provide a threat that could interrupt plans for outdoor activities.
