Leonel Moreno, a Venezuelan migrant who gained fame as a TikTok influencer, has been deported back to his home country.
Moreno, known for sharing tips on home invasions via TikTok, was flown to Venezuela last week after President Donald Trump resumed deportation flights to the country.
Trump’s return to the White House led to the revival of mass deportation efforts, prompting Venezuela to once again accept U.S. deportation flights.
The country had previously halted them in response to Trump’s tariff policies but agreed to resume flights last week.
Moreno had been ordered deported by an Ohio judge in September 2024. On February 26, he was transferred to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Conroe, Texas, to prepare for his removal.
Venezuela’s Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, confirmed that Moreno was received upon arrival.
During the flight, Moreno reportedly caused disturbances, requiring him to be separated from other passengers with extra security measures.
Upon landing, Moreno gave a thumbs-up and was seen receiving a pat on the shoulder from a security officer escorting him off the plane.
ICE had arrested Moreno in Ohio in March 2024 after tracking him since he illegally crossed the border at Eagle Pass, Texas, in April 2022.
He was initially held at Geauga County Jail but was later released under the Alternatives to Detention Program, which allowed him to remain free under electronic monitoring until his court date.
He was scheduled to appear in a Miami court in November 2022 but never showed up.
