In a distressing turn of events in Tampa, four individuals found themselves facing charges of child neglect after a tumultuous altercation involving a child demanding protection at gunpoint from their father. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the incident unfolded at a residence located in the 4800 block of 87th Street.
Deputies reported that the child’s mother, accompanied by three others, arrived at the home, leading to a heated argument. As tensions escalated, two individuals accompanying the mother resorted to threatening the father with a firearm, demanding custody of the child.
Following the altercation, detectives launched a swift and intensive search operation, culminating in the safe recovery of the child at a McDonald’s restaurant nearly seven miles away, approximately two hours after the initial confrontation.
In the aftermath of the incident, charges were levied against the mother, who faced four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, in addition to charges of child neglect and armed burglary. The other three individuals involved, identified as Keandre Lacey Brooks (29), Taylor Raven Wildgoose (31), and Timothy Michah Settles (28), were also arrested in connection with the incident.
