The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 34-year-old Tamra Warden following an investigation into a tragic traffic fatality that occurred on December 19, 2023, on Harney Road in Thonotosassa, near Tampa. The incident resulted in the death of 30-year-old Sabrina Rohrback, who was struck and killed while walking on the roadway.
According to reports, deputies responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Harney Road and Williams Road at approximately 8:45 pm. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Rohrback was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators determined that Warden, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, had veered off the roadway, striking Rohrback as she walked along the paved shoulder.
The arrest of Tamra Warden came on February 5th, with charges including DUI Manslaughter, Child Neglect, and DUI Accompanied by Person Under 18. It was revealed that Warden had a three-year-old child in the vehicle at the time of the incident, and her blood alcohol content (BAC) was recorded at 0.14, significantly higher than the legal limit.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his disappointment and heartbreak over the tragic incident, emphasizing the impact of recklessness on innocent lives. He commended the detectives for their thorough investigation and highlighted the importance of responsible decision-making, particularly regarding alcohol consumption and designated drivers.
