It’s Time”: Gabbard Says Secret RFK, MLK Files Are Days Away From Release

Documents related to the 1968 assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. are set to be released in the coming days, according to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

She made the announcement Thursday during a Cabinet meeting at the White House with President Donald Trump.

Gabbard revealed that over 100 individuals have been working tirelessly to scan and review long-stored documents linked to the killings and their investigations.

“These files have been locked away in boxes for decades,” she told Trump, seated near Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr

“They’ve never been scanned or made public before. But now, they’ll be ready for release within the next few days.”

“That’s great,” Trump responded, then turned to RFK Jr., the son of the late senator, and asked, “Bobby, how do you feel about that?”

“I’m very gratified,” RFK Jr. replied.

Trump acknowledged the emotional weight of the moment. “That’s hitting close to home,” he said. “I was thinking about Bobby when I heard that.”

RFK Jr. expressed his appreciation again, saying he was “very grateful.”

Trump then told Gabbard to ensure RFK Jr. had access to some of the material, recognizing its deeply personal nature. “Let Bobby see some of it. It’s time. The world deserves to know the truth,” he said.

Gabbard confirmed she had already spoken with RFK Jr., who agreed it was time for transparency.

RFK Jr. was a teenager when his father was assassinated on June 5, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, just after winning the California Democratic presidential primary.

Shortly after taking office, Trump signed an executive order to declassify documents related to the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr., Senator Robert Kennedy, and former President John F. Kennedy.

Back in March, the administration released newly declassified files about President Kennedy’s assassination.

Gabbard added that the government has “hunters” currently searching through storage at the FBI, CIA, and other federal agencies to uncover any additional materials that have yet to be disclosed.
