Five law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area worked together to arrest a Fairfield man suspected of credit card fraud in connection with a series of burglaries across several counties.
Christopher Britton, 34, was also arrested on charges of identity theft and burglary. He is currently being held at the Marin County Jail, according to police reports.
Police departments from Lafayette, Dublin, Vacaville, and Danville, along with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, collaborated on the investigation, which led them to Britton.
The investigation began earlier this month when authorities reported that an unknown individual had entered two local schools and stolen several credit cards. The investigation quickly pointed to Britton as the suspect.
On April 25, after a coordinated search of three separate residences, police arrested Britton. Investigators seized “significant” evidence and items believed to be connected to ongoing investigations.
The investigation into the burglaries is still ongoing. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Lafayette Police Department at 925-283-3680 or 925-299-3234.
