The Charlotte Mayoral and City Council candidate forum will be livestreamed by WFAE and the League of Women Voters of Charlotte Mecklenburg from the WFAE Center for Civic and Community Engagement in uptown on Tuesday, August 19, at 7 p.m.
The panel discussions with candidates for the mayoral election, Districts 1, 3, 4, and 5, as well as the At-Large seats, will be hosted by Steve Harrison of WFAE.
For voters, the League of Women Voters of Charlotte Mecklenburg offers a reliable, unbiased information source. As a part of a nationwide organization that has hosted candidate forums and debates for over a century, they have continued this tradition locally for decades, empowering voters and bolstering democracy in our town. They offer interesting Civics 101 seminars to help citizens better understand their government, as well as easily available sites like VOTE411.org, where voters may discover individualized ballot information. Their goal is straightforward: to guarantee that all eligible voters are aware, involved, and prepared to cast a ballot.
