A man was arrested in Pennsylvania after a high-speed chase led troopers to find a loaded gun and suspected drugs in his car, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident took place in Snyder County when troopers from the Selinsgrove barracks tried to pull over a vehicle around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26.
The vehicle was reportedly going more than 100 miles per hour on Route 11/15. Police said the driver did not stop and instead continued speeding southbound before making a U-turn and heading north.
The driver eventually pulled into the parking lot of a business near the intersection of Routes 11/15 and Mill Road. After stopping, the suspect got out of the car and tried to run away but was quickly taken into custody by state troopers.
According to officials, when troopers searched the vehicle, they found a loaded firearm, several bags of suspected marijuana, and other drug-related items.
The man is facing multiple charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude police, possession of a controlled substance, and illegal possession of a firearm.
He was taken to Snyder County Prison after failing to post bail. The name of the suspect has not been released as of now.
The Pennsylvania State Police emphasized that the pursuit was carried out safely and that no injuries were reported during the incident.
