In a major drug bust, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office has shut down a methamphetamine conversion lab in Plainville, Georgia.
The investigation began after deputies received strong leads about illegal drug activity happening in a residential area.
According to officials, the property had been under surveillance for several weeks. Deputies gathered enough evidence to conduct a search warrant.
When they entered the property, they found equipment and materials used to convert liquid methamphetamine into crystal form—commonly known as “ice.”
Authorities arrested 48-year-old Kenneth Lee Cagle of Plainville. He is now facing serious drug-related charges, including trafficking methamphetamine.
The sheriff’s office also confirmed that a significant quantity of liquid meth was seized during the raid. The drugs, if converted, could have been worth lakhs of rupees in street value.
Sheriff Mitch Ralston said the lab posed a serious threat to the neighborhood and thanked his team for acting quickly and carefully. He added that the materials found were dangerous and flammable, putting everyone in the area at risk.
This raid is part of an ongoing effort by local law enforcement to reduce the drug supply in Gordon County and protect residents from the dangers of drug-related crime.
Investigators are still working to find out if more people were involved in the operation. The case will now go through the court system.
