At the U.S. Senior Open, which concluded Sunday at Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Union professional golfer Steve Flesch finished sixth, extending his recent winning streak on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.

Flesch finished sixth overall in a field of 64 competitors with a four-day total of 4-under 276 after shooting even-par 70 in Sunday’s final round. With an 11-under 269, Padraig Herrington of Ireland was victorious.

Flesch tied for fourth in the Kauling Companies Championship and tied for second with partner Paul Goydos in the American Family Insurance Championship, a best ball tournament, in two prior PGA Tour Champions events for players aged 50 and over.

Flesch started Sunday’s round at 3-under after the first five holes, but he finished with a 70 after three bogeys and ten pars. In the tournament’s first three rounds, he carded 69, 70, and 67. He received $132,975 in prize money for finishing sixth.

Flesch has won $473,975 in the last three competitions. The 58-year-old left-hander has won $792,501 from 15 events this season, placing him 11th in the Schwab Cup tour rankings.

Flesch has participated in 184 events since joining the PGA Tour Champions in 2017 and has taken home four victories. The 2023 Ascension Charity Classic was his most recent tournament triumph. According to the most recent figures available on the tour’s members website, his total earnings have reached $7 million.

Flesch, who attended the University of Kentucky and Covington Catholic High School, made his PGA Tour debut in 1998 and won Rookie of the Year. He later participated in 464 PGA Tour events, took home four tournament championships, and earned over $18 million.

Flesch performed well in a few big PGA Tour events. He finished sixth in the U.S. Open in 2004. He tied for fifth in the Masters and finished sixth in the PGA Championship in 2008. In 2007, he was inducted into the University of Kentucky Hall of Fame and the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame during his peak on the tour.

Prior to joining the PGA Tour Champions, he was also a golf analyst for Fox Sports and Golf Channel.
