The Hebron Fire Protection District will now function as the result of the formal merger of the Point Pleasant and Hebron Fire Protection Districts on Thursday.

In March, Boone County Judge/Executive Gary W. Moore signed an executive order approving the merger, which was the first of its sort in the county. The Fire Districts have since endeavored to smoothly integrate people, policies, and procedures.

According to Boone County judge/executive Gary W. Moore, the merger is the result of years of deliberation, diligence, and dedication on the part of both fire districts to provide our citizens with the greatest emergency services available. As they continue to offer specialized and high-quality services, citizens, first responders, and fire districts all benefit.

Adam Peddicord, Chief of the Hebron Fire Protection District, said, “Our team of committed firefighters and emergency medical personnel has been hard at work preparing for this day since the signing of the executive order in March.” The merged organization is honored to provide emergency preparedness, response, and prevention services to this enlarged community.

Northern Boone County’s business, residential, and agricultural sectors spanning roughly 50 square miles will be served by the new Hebron Fire Protection District. Residents in both districts will benefit from increased efficiency and services as a result of the merger, and the new Fire District will be in a better position to attract and retain first responders. No stations will close, employees will be let go, or services will be interrupted as a result of the merger.
