During its Women’s Initiative Professional Series: Empower. Evolve, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (NKY Chamber) Women’s Initiative will honor creativity and motivation. Lead event at Prysmian, 4 Tesseneer Drive, Highland Heights, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 8–10 a.m.

Jennifer Holt, a professor at Northern Kentucky University and member of the Women’s Initiative committee, will moderate the conversation about what it means to be a leader, including leading teams, fostering innovation, and affecting change. Building a leadership attitude, communicating with assurance and impact, handling leadership transitions and career growth, finding your voice, and taking responsibility for your effect are some of the main themes.

Speakers on the schedule include:

Jennifer Holt, a professor at NKU and a member of the WI Committee, has taught college for more than 12 years and worked in the management, marketing, and entrepreneurship fields for more than 20 years. She is currently the owner and CEO of the fitness and nutrition company Fort For Life. She helped small businesses with marketing, social media, and strategic expansion while she was the CEO and owner of JWH Consulting. She is now a distinguished professor and has received recognition for her work in developing new products.

Co-founder of 80 Acres Farms Tisha Livingston has over 25 years of experience in the food industry. Finance, manufacturing, procurement, warehousing logistics, demand management, S&OP planning, quality, IT, engineering, and more have all been a part of her career. She was the co-founder and president of 80 Acres Farms, a pioneer in the United States’ vertical farming industry, before joining Infinite Acres, a fully owned subsidiary of 80 Acres Farms.

Throughout her career, Margaret van Gilse, a business consultant for Asellus Ventures and RxPREDICT, has focused on business development and health care marketing. In addition to Cincinnati, she has worked in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Juan, Boulder, and Nashville on a national level. After 16 years with Bexion Pharmaceuticals, she retired. She now works as a business development consultant for a number of firms, including the data-driven healthcare solutions company RxPREDICT. She has held positions on the boards of the Gateway Community and Technical College Foundation, CancerFree KIDS, and other organizations. She has also advised the Covington Independent Schools Science Program, the Kenton County Biomedical Academy, and other organizations.

Flavia Pane, R&D Product Development Engineer at Prysmian, earned her master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and her bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Processing Engineering in Italy. Before joining Prysmian as an engineer, she was employed at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. She also took part in the University of Aberdeen’s Erasmus+ program in Scotland.

The Women’s Initiative Professional Series Empower registration. Change. For NKY Chamber members, the lead is $30, and for prospective Chamber members, it is $40. With an NKYP Event Pass, admission is free. The NKYP rate is $25.
