Dozens of Oregon Home Burglaries Tied to Colombian Nationals Arrests Made

In response to a recent series of home burglaries, the authorities in Oregon have taken into custody four individuals who are of Colombian nationality.

The Tigard Police Department (TPD) has confirmed that the charges were made in connection with 39 burglary incidents that began in late September and targeted residences that seemed to be wealthy Asian-American families.

According to the investigators, the suspects used a way of breaking in that was consistent each time.

During the month of November, a warning was distributed to residents of three different counties, alerting them to the several home burglaries that had occurred, including four in Tigard, four in Washington County, and two in Beaverton.

Within the context of this investigation, search warrants were carried out on February 2 in the cities of Oregon City, Bend, and Portland.

In the first instance, a warrant was served in an apartment complex located in the 14100 block of South Beavercreek Road in Oregon City. The warrant was served by the Portland Police Department, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, and a number of other agencies.

The second incident occurred in Bend, Oregon, where the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team together with the Bend Police Department carried out a warrant execution in an apartment complex located in the 55000 block of Gross Drive.

During the process of carrying out the warrants, the investigators were able to recover cash, evidence, and jewelry that had been taken, as well as seize various automobiles.

Four individuals, all of whom are Colombian nationals, were taken into custody by the Tigard police department and charged with felony offenses. They returned to Washington County after being extradited there.
