According to a statement released by the National Hurricane Center on Tuesday evening, a region of low pressure that is located close to the southeastern coast of the United States has the potential to become the next named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.
It is anticipated that the system would proceed in a west-southwesterly direction over a portion of Florida and into the north-central region of the Gulf of Mexico.
According to the hurricane center, circumstances could be favorable for development if it continues to be located for a sufficient amount of time offshore.
The hurricane center has stated that it is highly probable that the system will pass over land over the weekend.
Nevertheless, it has the potential to provide severe rains to certain regions along the northern Gulf coast, including the Panhandle of Florida.
According to the hurricane center, as of Tuesday evening at eight o’clock, there was a ten percent probability that it will develop during the next seven days.

It is anticipated that Tropical Storm Dexter will be the next named storm to form.
Initial projections made by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) indicated that there would be between 13 and 19 named storms for the year, with between six and ten of those storms developing into hurricanes.
There is a possibility that three to five of those would develop into significant storms with a strength of at least Category 3.
In a recent update to their projection, experts from Colorado State University stated that they anticipate the season to be slightly less active than what they had anticipated earlier in the year.
