Texas is experiencing an unrelenting heat wave this week, with highs in several parts of the state reaching the 100°F mark. However, with rain chances creeping into the weekend forecast, could we finally experience a respite from the heat?
Even while the temperature is still high, there is a remote chance of showers close to the Coastal Plains, which could provide much-needed respite.
The National Weather Service claims that Cities like Austin, San Antonio, and Del Rio will continue to see temperatures well above 90°F, with some regions seeing temperatures of 100°F or higher.
The outlook is dominated by sunshine through Friday, but there is a glimmer of optimism as the weekend draws near: a small chance of rain, mostly for the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas, could slightly cool things down.
For Central and South Texas, the forecast predicts highs in the 90s and lows in the 100s.
Through Friday, San Antonio will have temperatures of about 100°F, while Austin and Kerrville will experience temperatures between 97°F and 98°F. Is it possible for some rain to fall by Saturday or Sunday?
