The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County saw a minor uptick on Sunday, rising four-tenths of a cent to $4.672. Despite this marginal increase, the current average price remains 2.1 cents lower than the previous week, although it is 30.9 cents higher than one month ago. However, compared to the same time last year, drivers in Riverside County are paying 6.9 cents less per gallon.
These figures, sourced from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service, reflect a notable decrease from the record high of $6.373 per gallon reported on October 5, 2022. Since then, the average price has seen a significant drop of $1.701.
Meanwhile, on the national scale, the average price of gasoline experienced a slight decrease, marking the eighth drop in nine days. At $3.262 per gallon, the national average is now 1.7 cents lower than the previous week, although it remains 16 cents higher than one month ago. However, compared to the same period last year, drivers across the country are paying 11.1 cents less per gallon.
The national average price has also seen a considerable decline from its record high of $5.016 per gallon reported on June 14, 2022, with a total decrease of $1.754 since then.
