It has been 60 years since Carroll Shelby stole the 1965 Shelby GT350, which was based on the first-generation Mustang. From that point on, we only had one Shelby GT350. Ford licensed the GT350 logo between 2015 and 2020 in order to produce the Ford Mustang GT350, GT350R, and GT500. But these weren’t Shelby. To find the last Shelby GT350 based on the fifth-generation Mustang, we must go back to 2011 and 2014.
However, the GT350, the top-generation Mustang, is back at Shelby and will be used in the future. To begin, the two vehicles used to announce their return to Barret-Jackson were one in the iconic Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue franjas, which evoked the 1965 GT350, and another in Candy Apple Red with white franjas, which honored the 1966 model.
The Super Snake 2024 models are the best-generation Mustangs. Shelby American manufactures 562 GT350s, including 36 GT350R, which Shelby uses as a platform to deliver the GT350R to the TransAm series. Why is that amount? This is the number of GT350s Shelby produced in 1965.
As said, the GT350R is manufactured separately from the GT350. manufactured in Oxford, Michigan, by Turn Key Automotive / Motorsports. It will be used to compete in 2026, 60 years after Shelby brought the original GT350 to the races. Shelby America is working with Aaron Coldwell, the technical director of TransAm Race Company, so they are prepared to leave the blocks when it comes time to leave markings on the pista.

You have the option of either manual or automatic transmission in both situations. We only know that the GT350 supercargodo costs $109,999. And that includes almost $42K for a Mustang GT in SS.
According to Vince LaViolette, vice president of operations and senior designer for Shelby American, the GT350R’s power increases to 830 CV (without the option of natural aspiration) and only a manual transmission with six speeds is available to [abrazar] the 1966 Shelby model car.
However, it is not only about power. Shelby wants the GT350 to be a fantastic experience for pista lovers. New muelles and stabilizing barras, both delanteras and traseras, have been added to ensure times of departure. There is a new escape Borla, a delantera fascia with redise and refrigeration conductors, a deep aluminum cap exclusive to the GT350, a new pato cola and an optional pedestal that covers the entire engine and improved Ford Performance frenos, which are fundamentally Brembo.
However, if we focus on the changes made to the GT350R, it promises to be a return for both the frenado and the ruidoso pedals. Particularly because it comes with an integrated anti-veiling jaula, a carbon fiber carrocer, and an optional set of competitive asides and arneses that are also made of carbon fiber. Frenos of competition in Alcon acoplados to flujo-conformed aluminum ruedas. Puntales and amortiguadores of JRI competitions that are completely adjustable with a remote control and a tiny carbon fiber aerodin package.
The GT500 was the first Mustang of the sixth generation, followed by the GT350 for dragsters and the GT350R for racetracks. The Ford Dark Horse Mustang, which has its own set of IMSA-approved specifications, will go on sale in 2024. But even before Ford releases a GT500 or a Boss model, Shelby’s Super Snake is the pinnacle of Mustangs.
