An American family moves to Spain and points out a cultural difference No need to keep up with the Joneses

What exactly is the American dream? Although a lot of individuals strive for it, not everyone is successful. Carlos Barbagallo, an Argentinean who arrived in our nation without knowing any of the language, is an exception to this rule. The only item he carried was a catalog listing the goods his family produced in Argentina. and a strong desire to be given a chance. His business has established itself in the market and now generates millions of dollars in revenue annually. This is his tale.

What is the American dream?

Let’s say it is similar to the notion that everyone may succeed in the United States by working hard and seizing the chances that present themselves. It is founded on the idea that, although it is not always so simple, your life may quickly improve with talent, hard work, and patience. Many people encounter obstacles along the path that keep them from persevering, such as language, financial, or legal impediments.

Who is Carlos Barbagallo?

We are discussing a 54-year-old Argentine businessman who earns millions of dollars annually, but who traveled to the US with two other buddies for a vacation. In his family, it was customary for anybody who left the house to bring along a catalog of the father’s business as a precaution (the father used to work in an electric kettle plant, but he started his own tableware business). He therefore had two contacts to contact when he arrived in the United States, but only one of them would respond. After showcasing his goods, he left for Argentina.

However, things were going well for him at the moment, and in June 2000, he received an invitation to go to New York and market his goods. Naturally, he went.

Hard beginnings, but with determination

Barbagallo had hardly enough money in 2001, but he was determined to find employment. Furthermore, he continued to move about and make calls despite his limited command of English. He started selling his goods gradually. His decision to relocate to the United States was finalized in 2002. His wife, Noelia, accompanied him on this trip and was not hesitant to join him in the United States to pursue his studies.

The giant leap: entrepreneurship.

As we already know, being an entrepreneur can have both positive and negative outcomes. But for Barbagallo, it was time to take a chance and jump; if it didn’t work out, he could just go back to his previous course of action. He therefore started importing and selling his own utensils with the help of his contacts back home. It wasn’t simple. Argentina experienced a severe economic crisis and import prices naturally increased, but he didn’t repent it or quit up. He thought of something else.

The Big Bet

He made the decision to shift production to India after realizing he needed to find another source for his product imports. He was able to cut expenses and compete with the major American brands as a result. Years later, he made the decision to add titanium dioxide to porcelain using Chinese technology. Because it was porcelain with a metallic finish that retained its strength (or utility), no one else possessed this product. His business, Pampa Bay, was establishing an entirely new market niche.

From a small business to a more global market

Barbagallo claims that his goods are available for purchase in over 3,000 stores across the US and 15 other countries. Prior to a larger firm claiming in court that the products they were selling were theirs in 2018, he was a huge success. Barbagallo was unaffected by the charges, which were merely a tactic to remove them from the market.

As a lesson from his career, Barbagallo tells us that no matter how bad the day becomes, we must always adjust to changes in the market and never give up. He realized that the American dream is real!
