Wrong-way Driver Causes Deadly Head-on Crash on I-75 in Crisp County, Killing Both Drivers

CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (KHN) – A head-on crash on I-75 early Wednesday morning killed two persons, according to a Facebook post from the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 1:00 a.m., a car heading north in the southbound lane collided with a driver traveling south. Just before the incident, a 911 call was received reporting a wrong-way driver. Deputies discovered the crash while hunting for the driver.

Both drivers were pronounced deceased on the scene. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, with support from Crisp County Fire Rescue, EMS, Cordele Police Department, and the Crisp County Coroner.

The names of the fatalities have not been revealed at this time because authorities are attempting to notify the families of those killed in the crash.
