The Abernathy City Council is set to review a new group of candidates for the city manager position during its upcoming meeting on June 9, 2025.
Interim City Manager LeeAnn Gallman confirmed that the council will evaluate these finalists as part of the ongoing search for a permanent city manager.
This development follows the council’s decision to repost the city manager position in May after initially interviewing three candidates earlier in April.
The council opted to reopen the application process to ensure a thorough search for the best candidate to lead the city.
The city has been operating under interim leadership since November 2024, when former City Manager Dan Provost resigned.
Gallman, who previously served as the city manager of Muleshoe, has been filling the role in the interim and will continue until a permanent appointment is made.
The June 9 meeting will provide the council with an opportunity to assess the new candidates and move closer to selecting a permanent city manager.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to stay informed about the process and attend the meeting to learn more about the finalists and their vision for Abernathy’s future.
