Police in Birmingham have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing that happened early Wednesday morning in the city’s west side.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, officers were called to the 500 block of 6th Avenue Southwest at around 5:30 a.m. on June 5. When they arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed several times.
The man was still alive and was quickly taken to the hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue. His current condition has not been shared publicly.
Later that day, police said they arrested 31-year-old Ernest Dorsey. He is now being held in the Birmingham City Jail.
So far, police have not shared details about what led up to the stabbing or any possible motive. The investigation is still ongoing.
