Claremont Subway Assault on Mother and Daughter Echoes Recent Family Tragedy

A recent subway attack in Claremont has brought back painful memories for a local mother and her young daughter.

The incident occurred on a Bronx subway train, where a woman suddenly attacked the mother and her 10-year-old daughter without any warning.

The attacker punched both of them in the face and mouth before fleeing the scene. Emergency services took the victims to Jacobi Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and later released in stable condition.

This violent encounter has deeply affected the family, especially the mother, who had previously experienced a tragic loss. In April, her sister, Lisa Cotton, and Lisa’s 8-year-old son, Nazir Mordecia Milien Jr., were found dead in their Wakefield apartment.

A wellness check led to the discovery, and a 4-year-old girl was also found alive in the apartment, having survived by eating chocolate. The young girl is now in the care of her grandparents.

The subway attack has reopened emotional wounds for the family, reminding them of the recent tragedy. The community is rallying around them, offering support and assistance during this difficult time.

Authorities are still searching for the woman responsible for the subway assault and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
