With immediate effect, Fr. Ray Enzweiler, Ph.D., has been named dean of Thomas More University’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Since April 2024, Fr. Enzweiler has been the acting dean.

In his capacity as dean, Fr. Enzweiler is in charge of 10 academic departments that provide two graduate programs, including a Master of Arts in Teaching and a recently established Master of Education in Education Leadership in the School of Education, as well as 19 baccalaureate degree programs.

As a member of the academic leadership team, Fr. Enzweiler plays a vital role in advancing initiatives for faculty and student success and makes sure that the College’s activities are in line with the University’s mission and strategic plan.

Fr. Enzweiler received his Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Thomas More in 1983. In 1988, he graduated with a doctorate in physics from the University of Cincinnati. He taught physics for 14 years before enrolling the seminary in 2001. In 2006, he was ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Covington after completing his theological studies with a focus on bioethics. Fr. Enzweiler is a priest in residence at Saint Thomas Parish in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, in addition to his full-time position at Thomas More.

Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Jay Langguth, Ph.D., said he congratulates Fr. Ray on his nomination to the permanent position and thanks him for his leadership as temporary dean. Under his direction, I’m excited for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences to continue to succeed.
