Local Student Awarded Annual Cowbelle Scholarship for Academic and Agricultural Excellence

A local high school senior has been chosen as the 2024 recipient of the Cowbelle Scholarship, an annual award given by the Santa Cruz County Cowbelles. This scholarship honors students who have demonstrated academic strength, community involvement, and a strong interest in agriculture.

This year’s recipient is Izabella Vega, a graduating senior from Patagonia Union High School. She was selected based on her consistent dedication to school, her passion for animal science, and her clear goals for the future.

Izabella plans to attend the University of Arizona, where she will pursue a degree in animal science with a focus on pre-veterinary studies.

The Santa Cruz County Cowbelles are a local organization that supports youth involved in agriculture. Their scholarship program aims to encourage young people to continue their education in fields related to farming, ranching, and animal care.

Each year, they choose one student from the area who shows potential in making a positive impact in agriculture.

Izabella expressed her gratitude for receiving the scholarship and said it will help her with college expenses as she begins her journey into veterinary medicine. The Cowbelles shared that they were impressed by her strong academic record, leadership skills, and commitment to agricultural life.

The community of Patagonia congratulates Izabella Vega on her well-deserved recognition and wishes her the best in her college and career journey.
