Twenty-four people have been arrested across New Jersey after a major drug bust that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, cash, and firearms.
Authorities announced the arrests on June 5 after a months-long investigation that targeted drug operations in Cumberland County and surrounding areas.
According to prosecutors, the investigation revealed a network of individuals involved in selling cocaine and other narcotics across multiple counties.
The arrests were the result of several coordinated raids conducted by law enforcement agencies at homes and other properties suspected of being used for drug activity.
In total, officials seized over $81,000 in cash, 13 firearms—including assault-style weapons—and a significant quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine. Some of the weapons were found to be illegal or unregistered, and officials say at least one firearm was reported stolen.
The suspects now face a range of charges, including possession and distribution of cocaine, possession of weapons during drug crimes, conspiracy to distribute drugs, and other related offenses.
Several of the individuals have prior criminal records, and authorities believe this bust may lead to even more arrests as the investigation continues.
Officials said the case shows the importance of collaboration between local, county, and federal law enforcement agencies.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, along with multiple police departments and task forces, participated in the effort. Authorities emphasized their commitment to fighting drug trafficking and improving community safety.
All those arrested will be processed through the criminal justice system, and court dates are expected in the coming weeks.
The prosecutor’s office also noted that this crackdown sends a clear message that illegal drug activity will not be tolerated in New Jersey communities.
