Massive Drug Bust in Linden: 22 Grams of Heroin, 6 Guns, and 24 People Arrested

A major drug operation in Linden has been busted by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, leading to 24 arrests.

Authorities announced that the investigation led to the recovery of 22 grams of heroin, six handguns, and a significant amount of illegal drugs and cash.

The investigation was led by the prosecutor’s guns, gangs, drugs, and violent crimes task force, along with the Union County Emergency Response Team and other police departments. The team executed five search warrants in Linden last month, which helped uncover a local drug network.

During the operation, law enforcement officials found heroin, fentanyl, crack cocaine, prescription pills, and more than $4,200 in cash. Six handguns were also recovered, some of which were loaded.

Officials say this operation was a result of a long and detailed investigation that focused on street-level drug dealing. The 24 suspects arrested are now facing a variety of charges, including drug possession, drug distribution, and weapons offenses.

Prosecutor William Daniel said the case shows how local law enforcement continues to take strong action to stop the illegal drug trade and protect the community. He praised the teamwork shown by local and county agencies during the bust.

Authorities added that this effort will have a direct impact on reducing drug-related crimes and violence in the area.

They also said that more investigations like this will continue in the future to keep neighborhoods safer.

The names of those arrested and the exact charges were not released at the time of the announcement. However, officials confirmed that many of them had records involving similar offenses.

This drug bust is part of a broader effort by law enforcement in Union County to crack down on drug trafficking and illegal guns, which continue to be a major concern in the region.
