Massive 'No Kings' Rally in Atlantic City This Saturday to Protest Police Brutality

Several activist groups are coming together this Saturday, June 15, in Atlantic City to host a large event called the “No Kings” March and Rally.

The event is meant to send a strong message against authoritarianism and police brutality, and to demand justice for victims of violence at the hands of law enforcement.

The rally is expected to start around 1 p.m. at Dunkin’ Donuts on Atlantic and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. From there, participants will march through the streets and end with a community rally at Brown’s Park, near Tennessee and Atlantic avenues.

This march is being organized by a coalition of civil rights and justice-focused groups, including Black Lives Matter Atlantic City, Atlantic County Democratic Socialists of America, AC Pride, and South Jersey Solidarity.

Their aim? To bring attention to recent incidents of excessive force by police, especially involving people of color and other marginalized groups.

Organizers say the message of “No Kings” reflects the fight against systems of power that put some people above others, especially when it comes to justice and accountability.

One of the key motivations behind this rally is the recent arrest of an Atlantic City officer, who was caught on body camera allegedly punching a man during an arrest. The incident has raised fresh concerns about police conduct in the city.

Organizers say Saturday’s event will be peaceful, family-friendly, and focused on unity. They’ve also asked local authorities to respect the right to protest and to avoid any heavy police presence that could cause tension.

The rally also includes guest speakers, live music, and food vendors, aiming to turn the protest into a community-building event.

People from neighboring areas like Camden, Philadelphia, and other South Jersey cities are also expected to join. The event is open to all who want to support equal rights, justice, and fair treatment for everyone.

As Atlantic City prepares for the weekend, locals are advised to plan for possible road closures near the march route between 1 and 4 p.m.
