Cushman & Wakefield was selected by the Northern Kentucky Port Authority to handle the property management of the SparkHaus and OneNKY Center in downtown Covington.

The NKY Port Authority requested bids in February and March for a company to service the City of Covington’s Class A buildings, which total almost 100,000 square feet of space, through a competitive process.

According to Christine Russell, executive director of the NKY Port Authority, “these two stunning buildings are not only physically transformative for the Northern Kentucky community, but they also bring a new level of commitment to collaboration and entrepreneurship among our organizations focused on growth and prosperity in our region.” SparkHaus revitalizes a historic building on Madison Avenue, while the OneNKY Center’s new development will permanently alter the Covington skyline.

Ten Northern Kentucky growth organizations, including BE NKY Growth Partnership, Catalytic Fund of Northern Kentucky, EducateNKY, Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky, LifeSciKY, meetNKY, Northern Kentucky Bar Association, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, OneNKY Alliance, and Thomas More University Division of External Affairs, come together at the OneNKY Center to operate a cutting-edge life sciences lab.

Meeting spaces, a presentation theater, a warming kitchen for catering, a break room, and a wellness room are examples of common area amenities.

Following a grand opening event on September 12, tenants have started to move into the OneNKY Center. Every week, hundreds of visitors and about 90 staff will come to the building.

With co-working spaces and private offices for both short-term and long-term tenants, SparkHaus is Northern Kentucky’s future hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

A cafe, meeting/event space, basement storage areas, an indoor/outdoor garage bay, conference rooms, and a fitness center are examples of common area amenities. Throughout the week, about 300 individuals will visit SparkHaus.

Tenants will start relocating to SparkHaus in late summer, with a grand opening ceremony scheduled for September. Many of these firms are making their first investments in actual office space.

Snow removal, maintenance response, office and common area cleaning, and other services are provided for both buildings. The OneNKY Center also offers landscaping, seasonal planters, garbage disposal, and grass watering and maintenance.

According to Christian Hinkle, managing director, asset services at Cushman & Wakefield, “We are honored to have been chosen by the NKY Port Authority to provide property management services for these prime Northern Kentucky assets.” This collaboration demonstrates our mutual dedication to providing outstanding value and operational excellence in order to support the Port Authority’s long-term growth and community impact vision.
