In a troubling incident from North Charleston, a man trying to do a good deed ended up being the victim of an alleged carjacking, according to police reports.
The situation unfolded after the man stopped his vehicle to help a woman he believed needed assistance.
The report states that the woman approached the man’s car and claimed she had run out of fuel. Wanting to help, the man offered her a ride to a gas station. Once they returned to her car with fuel, another man unexpectedly appeared at the scene. That’s when things took a turn.
The man told police that the unknown male suspect allegedly pulled out a weapon, forced him out of his car, and then drove away with the vehicle.
The victim, shocked and scared, immediately contacted authorities and reported the crime. The incident happened in the area of Remount Road and Paramount Drive.
According to North Charleston Police, the vehicle has not yet been recovered, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are now searching for both the female and male suspects involved in the case. They’re urging anyone with information to come forward.
