EAGLE COUNTY, Colo (KHN) – The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office reported that cocaine and cash were discovered during a Gore Range Narcotic Interdiction Team Task Force (GRANITE) traffic check.
The sheriff’s office stated on Tuesday that an unarmed deputy stopped a pickup vehicle on I-70 near Breckenridge after it allegedly violated several traffic regulations. They said they observed two youngsters in the truck, one of them was not wearing a seatbelt.
Deputies claimed 26-year-old Francisco Leon was arrested when a trained K-9 discovered over 31 pounds of cocaine, perhaps fentanyl, in the truck, as well as $25,000 in narcotics transaction proceeds.
Deputies say Leon is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, special offender, conspiracy, and child abuse.
“We are incredibly proud of our G.R.A.N.I.T.E.
