Tragic Virginia Shooting: 3 Dead and 3 Injured in Shocking Attack

At least three people have died, and another three have been injured in a shooting that occurred on Tuesday in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) received reports of the shooting around 5:30 p.m. in Spotsylvania, a suburb located about 60 miles south of Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, deputies found multiple victims who had been shot, according to a news release.

By 7:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office confirmed the deaths of three individuals, with an additional three victims being transported to local hospitals, the release stated.

Maj. Elizabeth Scott of the sheriff’s office shared in a press conference that the victims were found outside the premises, as reported by WTTG. “This is probably as bad as it gets, with at least six people shot. It’s been a stressful 24 hours,” Scott commented.

Shortly before the incident, two men were seen in the area carrying firearms, but the sheriff’s office is not linking them to the shooting at this point.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and no arrests have been made. Authorities believe multiple individuals may have been involved in the shooting, according to WTTG.

The ages of the victims have not been disclosed.

Fredericksburg City Public Schools issued a statement on X announcing a two-hour delay for Wednesday, April 9, in response to the incident’s significant impact on the local school community. “We appreciate your understanding and support as we work through this together,” the statement said.
