ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. (KHN) – An incident between two semi-trucks on Interstate 95 at County Road 210 in St. Johns County closed all northbound lanes, causing significant traffic backups for vehicles Tuesday evening.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report, a white semi-truck was traveling north on I-95 in the middle lane when the driver swerved to the right shoulder to avoid colliding with another car.
Troopers say the driver, a 34-year-old Jacksonville male, then “overcorrected” the semi-truck, causing it to reenter the northbound lanes and overturn into the right northbound lane.
According to the complaint, a blue semi-truck was following the white semi-truck in the center lane when its front right fender collided with the back of the white semi.
Officials say the overturned semi-truck began spewing CO2, but the leak has been stopped.
The crash resulted in no injuries, according to the report.
