These showers are forecasted to taper off late Wednesday night. The strong south winds, ranging from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, may reach up to 45 mph along the New Jersey shore. Winds are expected to shift to the northwest late Wednesday night and diminish during the day on Thursday.

The weather alert covers Southeast Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and the eastern shores of Maryland. The strongest winds and heaviest rain are anticipated to impact the area on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Gusty winds could lead to downed trees and power lines, resulting in localized power outages. Additionally, heavy rain may cause minor flooding, particularly in poor drainage areas. There is high confidence in the overall occurrence of these weather conditions.

According to weather.gov, showers are likely, possibly accompanied by a thunderstorm, before noon. The chance of showers persists between noon and 4 pm, with showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4 pm. The day is expected to be cloudy, with a high near 61. A south wind of 20 to 25 mph is anticipated, with gusts as high as 45 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
